Kanyana Wildlife #3 – Echidna Enclosure

Returning to Kanyana again our project this time is to upgrade the Echidna enclosure to make it safer for the Echidna’s and allow better viewing by children. Currently the enclosure is free standing metal framed and wire mesh covered. The wire mesh is small enough that the Echidna’s can get their snouts caught in the mesh potentially injuring them. To prevent this happening shade cloth has been placed around the lower section of wire mesh which prevents children from easily seeing the Echidnas.

We will be cutting the wire mesh along the horizontal support mid-way up the wall and bending it back out of the way. The section below the sign and to the door, will be replaced with perspex. The rest of the other lower sections around the perimeter we will replaced with aluminium panels.
