Come and join us at the Mandoon Bilya (Helena River) BioBlitz Festival.
It’s on Saturday 18th October from 10:00am to 3:00pm at the Mundaring Sculpture Park 3185 Jacoby St, Mundaring.
Track Care will have a stall to provide information to the public about how Track Care is involved in the Mandoon Bilya (Helena River) area. This includes how we have been working in the catchment area and upper reaches of the river in the Wandoo National Park, by doing volunteer work for DBCA.
We have also been in discussions, with BoorYul-Bah-Bilya, about future projects we can help out with, like the walk trail in the Mandoon Bilya Regional Riverpark.
Mandoon Bilya BioBlitz Festival
Bibbul Ngarma Aboriginal Association (BNAA) is hosting a free community festival on Saturday 18 October at Mundaring Sculpture Park and everyone is invited!
The festival is part of BNAA’s BoorYul-Bah-Bilya program, or BBB, which is all about restoring ecosystems, reinvigorating cultural heritage, and reconnecting communities with rivers.
They’ll be live performances, guest speakers, family activities, giveaways, face painting, community stalls, delicious food trucks and some special guests.
Learn about local projects to care for country and how to get involved with conservation and citizen science.
Mundaring Garden & Farmers Market will be right next door and Mundaring Hills Open Studios opens that day, so it’s going to be a great day up in the hills.
You can also contribute data to the BioBlitz by:
- Visiting local parks along the lower Mandoon Bilya (Helena River) between 13-19 October.
- Taking photos of plants, animals and fungi.
- Sharing your findings on iNaturalist and social media.
