Recently Track Care sent a team of 9 volunteers to work with a group from Paruku Rangers to install a SAGO dry toilet system at the popular Lake Stretch at the top end of the CSR. The existing toilet had been damaged by flood waters and rot and has been out of action for quite some time.
With funding from the Kimberley Land Council and Track Care, the structure was prefabricated in Perth and then transported on the back of two trailers to site, making it a very economical and efficient construction method. It also makes for a quick installation, with the whole job taking just 2.5 days to complete.
Track Care has been working on the CSR since 1997 and installed many toilets during that time. The newer, more hygienic toilet system now used, is a step up from the older style and we are very happy with the results. Track Care installed the first SAGO dry toilet system at Well 5 in Oct 2023 and will form part of the NATO testing procedure to get these units Health Dept certified Australia wide.
