This project is the third stage of restoration works to Pindathuna Cottage by Track Care.

Stage one involved repairs to flooring, door frames, window frames and stonework. The lounge / dining rooms was successfully opened up and four bedrooms and two store rooms were made useable.
Stage two focused on rebuilding and reglazing the sash windows to all six bedrooms, whitewashing the three southern bedrooms, mortar repairs to northern three bedrooms, removal of concrete render from exterior of the building and the application of bush mix render. There was also a general tidy up and many other minor repairs done to the cottage and surrounds.

Stage three will involve:

– Whitewash and paint the lounge / dining room and the three northern bedrooms.
– Interior mortar repairs to northern three bedrooms.
– Continuation of the removal of concrete render from exterior of building and application of bush mix render.
– Rebuild of kitchen shelving.
– Repair doorframes in northern bedrooms.
– Repair / replace veranda timbers and vertical iron on eastern side.
– Paint veranda timbers.
– Construct wood storage shed from salvaged timbers and iron.
– General tidy up and minor repairs as required to the cottage and surrounds.

Works will commence on the morning of Sunday 18 May 2025 and conclude on the afternoon of Saturday 24 May 2025, departing for Perth on Sunday 25 May 2025.

If possible, please plan to arrive Saturday afternoon / evening on 17 May 2025. The works briefing will be at 8am on Sunday 18 May 2025. Wednesday 21 May will be a rest day and we will have the opportunity to explore some of the sites of Gabyon Station. As with other rangelands projects, if you would like to stay on for a few days to tidy up and complete any outstanding tasks you are more than welcome to do so and it would be very much appreciate
